Job Summary
NorthStar Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team.
The Registered Nurse will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment, working closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
The ideal candidate is patient-focused, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple clinical priorities while maintaining high standards of safety and care.
Key Responsibilities
Assess patients and identify immediate healthcare needs.
Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Monitor patient conditions and document clinical changes.
Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals during procedures.
Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment and follow-up care.
Maintain accurate electronic health records.
Follow hospital policies, safety procedures, and infection-control standards.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
Required:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or eligibility for Texas licensure.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
1+ year of Emergency Department or acute-care experience.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Experience working with electronic health record systems.
